Not Perfect, but worth it.
The phone is not perfect, but it's as close as you can get on Android. For anyone looking for a clean, no need to reboot after a few weeks, no gimmick, up to date Google experience; this is it. While the battery will not win any awards, the phone is excellent and I would recommend the XL to anyone tired of buying Samsung phones and waiting eight months for an update or LG phones that seem never to get updated.

don't buy
2 weeks after owning the phone, there are now several thin lines of different color running vertically from top to bottom. ATT does not support issues with Google phones and Google is not being very cooperative about resolving the issue.

The Pixel 4 XL is the best Pixel phone yet

From a Pixel 2 non-XL to a P4 XL. Beautiful phone with fast, vanilla Android. Long lasting battery in the XL model. Screen is A. Camera is A+. Speakers are B+/A-. Design and weight is A. Face unlock is so fast. Gestures take getting used to, but now I can't go back on buttons. Very happy as a pure Android user who previously was a big apple ecosystem guy. Now all Google and I love it. Stay humble

Pixel 4 XL so far

So far i am just over 24 hours in using the Pixel 4. A little back ground, i used to be exclusively iphone until 2 years ago about this time, I bought my first non iphone in the pixel 2. I absolutely loved my pixel 2, best phone i owned to date. Fast forward just traded in the pixel 2 for the 4 XL. This is my first "large" phone, and so far i do like it. Coming from the 2, the 4 does seem lightning fast as it should. day to day operation isnt too much different coming from the 2. The camera is obviously great. So far battery life has been good. I dont think it is as bad as everyone says, I dont do a ton of streaming or anything, but i spent about 25 min. total streaming xm radio to and from work, and spend a lot of time on fantasy sports and sports apps in general. That along with some decent amount of internet surfing and continuing to set up my accounts, texting, a couple phone calls, and i am currently at 65%. my day started at 7am and it is currently 9pm. I'll take that all day long. Now for the positives.The first is the google assistant is awesome. I never actually used it much on my 2 but i find myself using it a lot so far. It is very quick and understands what I am asking. Other new features i like a lot are the facial recognition, its super quick, and i havent had a single issue. I like the wireless charging coming from the 2, but that is pretty much standard in major smartphones now. The dark theme is really cool as well. One thing that took me a while to figure out was getting back the 3 button setup from the pixel 2 and 3 at the bottom of the screen. The phone's default is by gesture, which imo, was extremely slow in comparison. It was almost a deal breaker for me. Instead of having the 3 button for home, back, and opening all running apps, you have to swipe up to go home, but you have to stop half way to get to your open apps and cycle through. if you do it too fast it just closes the current app youre in. for back on web pages and apps you have to swipe left, to bring up the back arrow or just swipe left for back, it felt very slow, but now i have it set up on the 3 button till i learn to be quicker with it. The one thing i love about the phone is it seems to have a lot of customization ability. Pretty much anything I dont quite like it seems there is an alternate way to set the phone up. Overall i love the way google is set up on the phone, its smooth and simple to use. Now as far as downsides, all phones will have some. My biggest complaint is the facial recognition and being unable to use it to unlock apps. I use a lot of banking apps, insurance, and general bill stuff that i now need to remember my password for. It's not a deal breaker but a huge step back for sure. Second, the memory, 64G works for me, but i can see how for any heavy smart phone user, it just isnt enough for the price of the phone, when most come standard with at least 128G. Third, price. For what you pay, Im noticing that the pixel may not be worth it totally. Me being used to the pixel and how it operates, it was an easy upgrade for me. None of the other android phones jumped off the page at me after researching, and called for me to switch. But again for what you pay, the phone seems to operate very similar and looks very similar to the iphone. My wife got the 11 and the phones look and seem to operate eerily similar, and she paid $250 less. All in all it has been a good phone so far, could use a few tweaks though. im sure it will get better over time. However, had i already had an iphone or another android, i dont know i would have been 100% inclined to switch in my overall honest opinion, but now that i have it, after a lot of research, i am happy with the choice.

Its just... OK.. but durable

I think it has a lot of potential because of the camera. But the phone is slow to load and drags when switching from screen to screen. Good thing is I dropped it in the water, fully submerged, and it still works the same. so I can personally say that its very durable.
No, I do not recommend this product.

Really miss the fingerprint scanner, and AT&T doesn't allow the Pixel visual voicemail (with AT&T, it's a separate app). Also don't love the glass back. Everything else is great as usual for a Pixel though! Fantastic camera, good response time. Very customizable.
