Great Smart Phone!
I have stuck with HTC just about ever since I got my first smart phone. I usually get a new phone about once a year because I get sick of using the same one all the time. The HTC First is great! The set up is different than most androids so I have had it for more than a year and i'm still not sick of it. This phone is also pretty durable I drop my phones a lot and this little guy made it through so much even without a case. The only thing about this phone that is meh is the photo quality and after a while the battery dies faster just like every other smartphone.
Prosgraphics, size, durable, great setup, fast
Consbattery, camera

Great entry level phone!

If you're not looking to spend a ton of money on a flagship phone like the One or the Galaxy, this is a great phone. Once you disable facebook home (which isn't really that difficult) it is a great experience. Its nice to see it running stock android with no manufacturer software on top of it. If you want to spice it up, just install a launcher. This makes it easy and simple to use. The design is also pretty good for a basic phone. It's small and lightweight. The finish on it makes it feel very nice, although it is a bit slick. I have dropped it a few times with no problems, but I usually have a case on it, but a pretty thin one. The Gorilla Glass has definitely kept scratches off of my screen. The battery life isn't great, but if you only use it for some calls, texts, and some browsing throughout the day, it will usually last about a full day for me, and I have had it for a year now. The camera is the biggest drawback for me. 5MP is pretty bad for a modern smartphone, but if you aren't that into picture taking, it really isn't a problem. Overall, this phone seems to be very underrated. Its a simple phone that will do anything you want and then some.

not overly impressed

After only a couple months of use, the touch screen would not remain calibrated and wore out quickly. Disabling Facebook as your main sleep screen and background (and everything else for that matter, including how you contacted your contacts) was very difficult. I, personally did not care for facebook being my resting/sleep screen as it displayed my personal information, as well as my friends' personal information while just sitting on the table or wherever else. The phone is made for you to be able to "stay connected" by virtue of it being a facebook based device however if you are truly connected with facebook, twitter, texting, calling, etc -- the battery doesn't even last a full day. I am constantly checking email and talking to peers and it couldn't keep up. It also did not allow me to connect with my email accounts that were not gmail through the email application. I had to use the internet/chrome app and log in manually instead of it loading to my device like it did for gmail. Additionally, we all know accidents happen and I know I'm not easy on my phones. When the screen cracked from dropping it... in grass... the crack spread with a few days and the glass started coming away from the screen/became sharp.
