The best in its class, period!!!

In a the last two years I went from a Moto V551 to a Moto KRZR, then jumped to the HTC Tilt and two months ago to the FUZE.
First, let me put one thing very, very clear. The HTC Tilt and FUZE are NOT phones! They are Windows Mobile 6.1 Pocket PCs. Which means, they are personal computers like your desktop or laptop. Miniaturized to fit in your pocket. They run a lot of programs like Opera internet browser, Microsoft Office Mobile, Adobe Reader, etc and another important program... Phone software!
Of course they also have specialized hardware (GSM/GPRS radio) to work as a phone, but think of it as the wireless network card in your PC!
Now that I made clear their true nature, I can continue with the FUZE review.
The Fuze is everything good the Tilt is but improved to a point that almost reach science fiction terms and usefulness.
I was really happy with the Tilt capabilities. The sturdy, well builty ruggedness. The excellent keyboard, the bright display, the camera, etc. But it lacked speed and processing power. Remember the thing I told you about what they reallty are? Yes, a computer... a pocket computer. The hardware in the Tilt is pushed to its maximum capabilities when you install aditional Internet Browsers, additional GPS and Mapping softwares, Themes, etc. Those are softwares that greatly expand the usefulness of the "phone". But at a cost... speed.
Then I decided to give the new Fuze a try at my local AT&T store. I was amazed with the notable difference in processing speed, display resolution and elegant look of the FUZE.
Navegation between screens and menus is a breeze. The Touch Flo user interface is intuitive an easy to navegate, even with your bare fingers.
The increase in processing power and memory capacity is notable when you have three different Opera Browser Pages open at the same time! Or watch a YouTube video with excelent video motion and audio.
But that's not the best part yet. This phone can do everything you can imagine. I know that sounds weird but let me explain.
This phone quietly whispers to your bluetooth earphone when you have an appointment, receive an important email or text message without disturbing those around you. Yes, it speaks to you in plain english to let you know of incoming email, messages of appointment on your headset. Its like a receptionist or secretary in your pocket!
But that's not all. Connect the optional HTC AC-T110 Video Out Cable and you can run a Power Point Mobile presentation in your conference room projector. You can connect it to any TV and watch with your friends and relatives your videos and slideshows. You can even connect it to the new pocket LED projectors out there and you will have the ultimate in pocket projection portability.
You can connect the optional HTC RC-E100 wired remote control with headphone output and you will have the capability to skip foward and back your mp3s, turn up or down the headphone volume, answer incomming calls or even change the FM radio stations. All this with remote control in your hand and your phone in the pocket.
Download Google maps and configure it with the inboard GPS receiver and you will have the ultimate GPS with Satellite images and maps.
For the FUZE, the posibbilities and uses are endless. Only limited by your creativity and imagination.
There may be other that claims nice graphics, bigger screen, pretty games, internet safaris or "use your fingers for everything"
But for the true professional, this is the "phone" and period!!!

Not for business use...

I am one of the primary people responsible for evaluating smartphones at work and just got my hands on the Fuze.
First impression was WOW I can't believe how much this phone can do. Unfortunately, the excitement quickly died once I started to use the phone.
To be fair I have to say that I have been a Blackberry user since the 7290 and have owned every BB except the Storm. I currently use the Bold as my primary phone and have recently completed an eval of the iPhone 3G configured for Exchange ActiveSync.
The Touch Flo Interface on the Fuze is supposed to make it easier to use the touch screen on the phone but I quickly learned that it only makes the phone run very slow. If you do get one, I stongly encourage you to disable it or remove it.
We use BES and Exchange ActiveSync for e-mail and the material with the phone advertises that the Fuze supports Blackberry Connect, but when I tried to configure it, no dice. The link takes you to a page on HTC website that says "Coming soon". ActiveSync does work, however, it does NOT support remote wipe and I could NOT get the push functionality to work - surprisingly both worked as advertised on the iPhone.
Being a Windows Mobile device you would expect the default browser to be IE mobile - not the case here. The default browser is Opera and is the only browser that supports the zooming features of the phone. I also could not figure out how to change the default browser to IE mobile.
I also found it annoying that the phone has two seperate music players. The one included with Touch Flo and Windows Media Player. Why? Not only does it take more memory, but it is annoying that you cannot default the touch flo button to launch WM.
On the topic of music - the phone DOES NOT include a standard headphone jack or mini USB port. You have to use a proprietary adapter to connect headphones or USB cable. This includes charging the phone. Yes - another adapter to lose.
Pros: Super sharp screen and better than average video play back. Lots of bells and whistles for the consumer user.
Cons: Not designed for the business user. Very short battery life. No standard ports. Finger print magnet. Heavy as compared to iPhone and BB Bold. KB keys are too flat for touch typing.
Conclusion - this phone might be better suited for the consumer user that can make use of all the extras, but at this price level it might be worth looking elsewhere. For the business user, this phone will only frustrate you.

piece of junk

this phone is the biggest piece of junk i have ever owned. it has every feature you could imagine but that doesnt matter if the phone is always freezing. sometimes ill hit the home key and nothing will happen i can hit it 40 times and it just sits there i have to take the battery out just so it will work. and other times if im in the call log and hit the home key it calls people and its the most aggravating thing in the world. the round button in the middle doesnt work at all the left and right anyway the up and down works okay but like if your in an applacation and you need to use right or left sometimes if you hit left it will go to the home screen and if you hit right it will either end what you are doin or go back a page. the phone has a beautiful screen but only if your in a dark room if your in dirrect sunlight you cant see the screen at all. i thought i was getting a really good phone when i got this but i was really disappointed it acts up and freezes way to much. it does have every feature you could think of but good luck getting them to work good. im going to stick to the iphone best phone i ever had and no phone touches it i havent found 1 yet to have everything it does and work has good plus there are endles amounts of apps you can add to it

This is a great phone, and has amazing features/applications to use. When texting, love the way that they will continue, instead of stopping @ 160, and will store texts for months at a time, not taking up barely any space, and when the phone runs out of room, it will clear the text/start a new session for you. The one thing i don't like is the phone won't save pic messages that are sent to me, to my memory card. It will only save pictures I take, and I have tried changing the setting on this. Another thing I like is when I have a missed call, the nav ring will flash to notify me / also i emjoy beign able to change my text size by spinning teh outter side of the nav ring clock wise (folling the lil arrows around the outter side of it) / some probs w phope: reason it didnt get a 5 blue tooth doesn't work / when the phone gets warm, the screen will have a rainbow bubble on it, but when it gets cool, it fades away, but is still annoying, also the phone freezes / and with it being an HTC phone, you have to remove the stylist, and proess the reset by pressing the button by the charger / was told that if i pulll out my battery while phone is on, it can cause damage to just this device

Great Phone!

I really love this phone! I just switched from an I phone to fuse. At the beginning I don't like it. But now I am in love with this phone. I uses logmein for remote access my home computer. I can access my home PC through this phone, download files from my computer to this phone and e-mail attachments. Then I could save it into a folder I created in this phone. Just like in a computer (Iphone dont have this feature). Also I like MS outlook compatibility with this phone. I can create folders and move e-mails in the outlook using this phone. Active sync is working great. I also appreciate the feature of printing documents from the phone by using Wifi or Blue-tooth. I don't need a laptop to carry around.Endless possibilities!
Cons: Battery life is limited. Kind of bulky. It could be slow overtimes. Wish At&t navigator service is free! But over all I love it.

Headache...

I have had my fuze for a yr now... and the only reason why I still have it... is because Im looking for the right phone. But everyday, I have to deal w/ the freezing. It was great when I didnt really know how to work it... but the more I learned and got it working... It would start freezing. And then it will go out of whack and start doing its own thing... with that touchflo. Yeah, not so much of a fan. I wouldnt recommend people to go spend so much for a phone like this... along with that the phone is so big. Its heavier then my wallet. Well, I will keep looking for the perfect phone.
