Once it was the best phone ever
I was in love with this phone till AT&T sent the android lollipop upgrade. It had the best battery life and had no issues at all when I had the Android KitKat. After the Android upgrade my battery life is almost the half as before, it is charging very slow, some apps started crashing.. I reset the phone and installed everything again and still the same. If you can buy the phone with KitKat on it, would definitely recommend it but never ever upgrade to lollipop.

Never thought I'd be writing this review.....

First off, I want to start by saying that I am a huge Apple fanboy. But, that has changed now. I have owned the iPhone 5S, the HTC One, and the Galaxy S4. I always...ALWAYS went back to Apple devices after owning these other Android phones. That is not the case anymore with the LG G2. After having problems with my iPhone 5S and then it completely dying at the AT&T Store, and the reps didn't even know what happened, I decided to go with the HTC One because the build quality was close to the iPhone and I had heard good reviews about it. I like the HTC One, but to me it just seemed like something was missing. I loved the aluminum design, and the feel of the phone in general, but it still did not satisfy me. One of the issues with the One was battery life. I am a heavy user when it comes to smartphones, and I have yet to find a phone that would not have me running to a wall outlet to charge by the end of the day. Therefore, since the battery life of the HTC One did not meet my needs, I returned the device for the LG G2 after hearing good things about it. All I have to say is...I AM IN LOVE WITH THIS PHONE!!!! It is incredible!! I never thought I would be saying this about an Android phone.
The design is awesome, though I could probably do without the plastic backing, but even then it still feels amazing to hold. Very natural. The screen is bright and vibrant! It is a nice 5.2" and it doesn't feel like a huge phone at all! It fits perfectly in my hand, and i have no complaints with it. I am coming from the iPhone 4" display, and i always hated the idea of going with something bigger, but I do not mind at all now! This phone is perfect! Much better than the iPhone 5S screen in my opinion. I thought the physical buttons being in the back were going to be a problem for me, but after just one day...it instantly felt very natural. I can't imagine going back to the power and volume buttons being on the sides and top of the phone now. I love the design overall.
The features on this phone blow the iPhone 5S out of the water! It is super fast, it does not lag or slow down no matter how many things you throw at it! It amazes me day after day. One of my favorite features, though I know it sounds dumb is when you get an incoming call or notification, the power button on the back of the phone lights up. So if you have your phone facing downward in a noisy environment and can't hear it go off, you can see the LED light on the back lighting up. Like I said, probably a dumb thing to be excited about. But I love it!! Also, the IR Blaster on it is awesome! That's something that gets overlooked because of all its other amazing features, but the IR Blaster comes in handy for me at work very often! And I could not have a phone without it now!
The camera is amazing as well. I enjoy taking photos with low lighting, and this camera does an amazing job at it. I still think it is a better low light camera than the iPhone 5S even with it's dual flash and extra iSight lens. And the G2 has a lot more features than the iPhone.
The battery has amazed me so far, and I haven't even charged it to 100% yet. I am still using the charge it came with out of the box, and that has been more than 24 hours ago. And I only set the phone down to go to sleep. I can't wait to see how long it'll last me on a full charge!
The "Knock Knock" feature is cool. I find myself not even using the buttons anymore, because you can power the screen on/off by just tapping it twice.
Overall, I am very satisfied with this phone. It has definitely brought LG back into the competition of smartphones in my opinion. If you are thinking about getting this phone...don't think anymore, go to the store and buy it! You will not regret this at all! I highly...HIGHLY recommend this phone. And I was a HUGE Apple user. But this phone changed my mind!

When I first recieved this phone I was very excited because I already had the LG Optimus G Pro and loved it! But, when I started to mess around with this phone I realized the back buttons are very annoying and difficult to use for everything. I also didn't like the fact that the "Home" button wasn't an actual button and it was right beneath the space bar- every time I was texting or typing something it would hit the home key and close out of everything. Also, within the first few days the edges started to get scratched up and the front camera even started getting fuzzy because of it.
Earlier today, I placed my phone with the case on it face down on the top of my car and when I picked it up the screen had a crack down the left-hand side! Along with that everything from the bottom of the small crack was frozen and wouldn't work. Now my ENTIRE screen is frozen and I can't even shut off the phone. The crack is definitely not very big so it should not have caused this much trouble.
I'm very disappointed in the cheap making of this phone. I would not recommend it to anyone.

This was my first LG phone and I loved it. I recently gave it to my mother to use and it's still cranking along. I have since gotten the LG G4, G5 and now have the G6. Favorite feature is the double tap to activate the screen.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Gush! i am so angry. i bought this phone about three months ago and its . No hot spot or tethering possible and it keeps rebooting and at times it goes blank for days.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Looking for a replacement to my tried and true HTC 601 (business phone), i purchased many different phones as a test to see if "That's the one".. (going to be using it for the Next 5-6years so it better be right for me).. i selected the G2 because of size, battery and adreno 330.. it's roughly the same size as my 4.5" 601 with a 5.2" screen (that's nice, considering i'm old). did not want the G3 or higher, because i take many photos of my grandkids, and the Laser focus system of G3 and up suck the battery down.. so the few gripes i have are the Lack of SDcard slot to bring All my photos into the new G2.. and that the screen wakes for text messages in your pocket, walking around and blurp blurp i'm calling 911.. use Textra to stop that one (same as samsung home button wake garbage) sheesh.. i dumped an s5 active for the G2.. other than 2 simple things, Happy
