Great Upgrade from S7
Compared to my old Samsung Galaxy S7 (which got damaged over the past few years), this phone is amazing! Much newer and clear screen, more responsive, and having the finger scanner on the back is great. Only thing I'm still getting over is the size, but that's a plus. The stylus being removed opens a quick note app, which makes it great for quickly copying information. Overall, very satisfied.

For what it is, it's a great device...

After months of waiting for AT&T to start selling them, I finally got my LG Stylo 5+! Case and screen protector come tomorrow. Went ahead and "downgraded" to this since my Moto Z2 was more expensive every month and I wanted a bigger screen and stylus. Obviously, it's nothing compared to a Note series Galaxy, BUT it so far performs very well (I say this with a bit of hesitation - it does have 3gb of RAM and a Snapdragon 450 octa core). Performance is only slightly clunkier than my Moto (which had a Snapdragon 835 - hubba hubba - and 4 gb of RAM). I highly recommend using a third party launcher such as Apex. It speeds up the phone considerably (LG isn't all that great at their own UI). The stylus is a very welcome tool (it is EXCELLENT to use in place of a fingertip for accuracy). It can't do all the fancy stuff a Note can do, but it does have quick memo functions even when the screen is off! I can't see myself using this though. The camera is...meh. 13 mp on the back with a flash that has a blueish hue. It's ok for night shots if you're not trying to take pics like a pro. The front 5 mp is the same as my Moto minus the flash. This phone does have an LED indicator (YAY) although I wish it could change colors for different apps. Battery life is amazing thanks to the type of processor it has and it being a 3500 MAH (low power consumption combo). The screen looks the same as my Moto even despite the significant drop in PPI (551 vs 363 - although for a screen this size, even an iPhone struggles to give you 300+). Colors are rich and shading is great in detail. Thanks to Android 9 Pie, it will at least have the latest security updates and UI improvements (a year later, my Moto STILL had Oreo 8.1 - cringe factor). YOU WILL WANT A CASE AT THE TIME OF PURCHASE! Read that again! The back of this phone WILL scratch very easily even in a pocket. The overall feel of the device is very premium, not as slippery as a Note series, but then again the back is plastic. You'll be pleased to note that the side runners are aluminum and the build feels sturdy. The speaker on the bottom is extremely tinny and music does not sound very good (my Moto used the regular headset speaker as a loud speaker and when it comes to mobile speakers, you will never outdo a Moto. Speakers is how they began in the 30s). Wireless charging is a no go, but it does have quick charge capabilities (my Moto Z2 would charge in half the time, but a full battery on this one in an hour and a half isn't bad considering the size of battery and price point). Headphone jack ahoy! Yes it has one, although it is a bit difficult to completely secure the jack into the phone. You have to press slightly harder than expected for one last tiny "click." I will conclude this review with one overall statement about this phone: If you are an adult user who doesn't require all those fancy bells and whistles, at a decent price tag, it isn't all that bad. Certainly, there are Chinese substitutes that lack a stylus and have comparable specs, HOWEVER buyer beware of their short lived reputations thus far AND their possible lack of security updates. Not to mention their cheaper hardware (a Helio processor may be "okay" but it is NOT a Snapdragon). Although, so far I would recommend this device, I would not recommend it for a kid unless they truly wanted one with its shortcomings. Happy shopping!
One thing more: there is an annoying ongoing system notification that keeps popping up. No, you cannot disable these. You can merely swipe left or right on the notification, click the cogwheel, and mute it for up to two hours at a time. My Moto was a flagship and had a similar notification problem (apps running in the background). It's an Android issue NOT a phone issue.

Great Business Phone

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I have owned this phone for 2 years and the functionality and performance has never let me down. I use this phone during the 5 day work week to sign in to the VPN network for my job and it never has never had an issue unlike the VPN that I have to sign on to. I am on the ATT network which in my area is superior to anything else. Never drops calls. Network is always available. As far as WiFi - I have a dual identity Wifi set up through Verizon FIOS with extenders for my Wifi. Never loses the network and I have a pretty large home. I am not a gamer. My phone is 90% business use. If I ever have a problem I would change immediately. My phone is my livelihood. This phone is perfect. Always issue free.

The phone keeps losing an hour of time a day since we set our time ahead the hour. It goes back daily. Shutting off is getting old. Before this the phone has been great.

Horrible! Slow, blurry screen, heavy

Worst phone ever. How is it possible that the Stylo 5 is ten times worse than the Stylo 2 & 3? This phone is MEGA slow, I can't even play games on it because it lags so bad. Web pages take forever to load. The screen is too skinny, the Stylos 3 screen was wider. How is the Stylos 5 considered an upgrade? It's actually a downgrade. The screen is blurry and pixilated, while the older Stylo's were clear. It is so incredibly heavy! I drop it all the time because it's so bulky and heavy. I've had my Stylo 3 for years, yet the Stylo 5 is ten times slower. Why would they upgrade a phone and make it worse and slower? Why would anyone prefer a nice lightweight phone over a super heavy one? The creators have to know how slow it is, and blurry. Did they think we wouldn't notice? I'll stick with the Stylos 3.

- A: The LG Stylo™ 5+ | AT&T, Model # LMQ720AMAAG3BKY is assigned to AT&T, meaning, it is locked to the AT&T network and it will not work any other GSM carrier unless AT&T unlocks it for you. If AT&T unlocks it for you, it will only work on another GSM carrier. Verizon is not a GSM carrier. Verizon is a CDMA Carrier so this phone will not work on Verizon's network. You may be able to port the phone number from AT&T to Verizon, but you will need to contact AT&T and Verizon about that...^IFV5 years ago
