Great phone for the price!
I had the Samsung Galaxy S6 which was in great condition and worked fine until the last AT&T update. After the last AT&T update my phone would freeze up, re-start on its own, and wouldn't hold a charge. I think AT&T does this on purpose to force people to buy new phones. Anyway, I refused to pay the higher price of the Samsung Galaxy S9 so I decided to try the cheaper Samsung Galaxy J3. This phone works just as good as any other Samsung phone. Galaxy J3 very unimpressed
So disappointed in this phone - the camera doesn't take very good pictures. Was shocked for a 2017 phone that this one is sooooo slow. The name Galaxy had me thinking it was going to do for my basic needs but I suggest that you spend more money and get a better phone - if you can afford it.

Nice Basic Phone

Some folks want a phone simply to make phone calls, send texts, send emails, and take a quick snapshot. They don't play games, don't do video calling, don't try to run a business from their phone. And, those folks don't want a phone that costs more than their monthly house payment.
The 2017 Galaxy J-3 does a great job with basic tasks. And, the battery will last a full 24 hours with moderate use, twice as long as some other GoPhone models.
There is no ambient light sensor so you must adjust screen brigtness with a slider on the notifications menu. I like setting my own brightness level but many people will be upset about the lack of auto brightness.
The Galaxy J-3 is almost exactly the size of the Galaxy S6 and Galaxy S7. It is a size that works well for most hands and most pockets.

Not worth the money.

I got this phone after having a Samsung S3 for over 3 years. The att sales associate laughed at me and said this phone would be better than my S3. After having this phone for less than two months it continues to have glitches. Doesn't sense your finger on the screen and have to hit letters multiple times when texting, etc before they even register. My home button is now broken and I went through a period of about 3 days where my power button wouldn't even light up my screen or power the phone on or off. These phone prices keep going up and for almost $200 I should get something that is reliable. I don't think this phone even compares to my S3, should have gone with an S6 or S8.

Not Worthy of a Samsung Name

Lets look at the pluses. It turns on. You can get email and surf the web. Battery life is good for general use. Would not try running streaming all day without a plugin. Do not plan on anything else. No NFC, which means no Samsung pay, no Google pay. Cannot use NFC encryption key. Device is slow and does not like switching programs without lagging. Texting?! Yes it does and it can also get laggy doing so. I have typed out 3 words and watched the letters drag out like an old LED clock.
It's a phone on the cheap and in my opinion not worthy of a Samsung logo on it.
No, I do not recommend this product.
