Galaxy phone trade-in

“Galaxy phone trade-in. Any year. Any condition.” I spent nearly 2 hours on the phone with a AT&T rep making sure I qualified for the promotion. I was asked my current phone ID information and GB storage and was told my S9 was an eligible device for trade-in for a Samsung Galaxy S24. I reviewed numerous times with the rep what all I was receiving and what was required of me regarding the trade-in to verify there would be no cost for me. After receiving my new S24, I called back on several different occasions requesting assistance with voicemail set-up and requesting a label for returning my phone with no mention of my trade-in not qualifying. On my 3rd call requesting a return label, I was shockingly advised that my trade-in did not qualify and I would be billed $22.22 for the next 36 months to pay for the $800 phone. I did my due diligence to make sure I was getting the best deal and bundling discounts for the least cost to me and making sure the Rep and I were on the same page and both understood my concerns by repeatedly asking questions. I was warned of AT&T’s poor customer service, but have always had good experiences until now. I wish I would have heeded the warning cause nowI get to spend even more time at a physical AT&T store finding out why I was lied to and how the situation can be fixed. Beware of AT&T promos that seem too good to be true, cause they probably are!
