Great phone for outdoor workers!!
First let me start with saying I was running the sonim xp7 before upgrading to the xp8. I already knew what I was going to get with sonim. A super tough and durable phone that can handle my work life. I do building maintenance and spend most of my day out in the weather. Trust me, here in Florida we get enough rain to truly test "waterproof" claims. The xp7 was a brick that survived falling 2 stories to pavement. Buggy with security issues
This phone was not ready for release. Several software bugs, including no ability to prevent the phone from auto-connecting to open ATTWIFI hotspots without turning wifi completely off. Built-in hot spot crashes when using openVPN, screen freezes constantly, several apps that are fine on other phones crash on this one, no ability to remove ATT bloatware, settings rabdomly change and turn off cellular data, and more. I wish I never bought this phone.

First let me start with saying I was running the sonim xp7 before upgrading to the xp8. I already knew what I was going to get with sonim. A super tough and durable phone that can handle my work life. I do building maintenance and spend most of my day out in the weather. Trust me, here in Florida we get enough rain to truly test "waterproof" claims. The xp7 was a brick that survived falling 2 stories to pavement. The xp8 seems slightly more delicate but still the Mike Tyson of phones. This isn't a galaxy active. It's not a "outdoor app button" phone. I have broken 3 other "rugged" phones in a 6 month period before finding sonim. Second I'll talk downfalls. If you can't handle old outdated OS and less than top of the line features, this ain't your phone. The predecessor to this phone the xp7 was released in 2014. It started with Android 4.2. It had one update bringing it to 4.4.4. that was it. So if this one gets past 8 I would be shocked. And don't expect another phone from sonim before 2022. So if you can deal with a few technological set backs for about 4 years because you need a smartphone that doubles as a sledgehammer then by all means. But if you think your buying a top notch piece of technology to show off at your office job, I would stick to Apple and Samsung. Leave the toughest phone on the planet to the men and women that still get their hands dirty for a living and just go back to your latte sipping.

Worst Phone I've ever had in my life

Look man when people call me and i answer i can talk to them for like two minites then either they cant hear me or i cant hear them. Then I call back and the phone doesent ring and i cant hear them or they cant hear me. it gets worse when your texting the send button gets stuck as the little person. so that you cant send the message you have to restart the wonderful phone to answer calls or text i had to atleast 8 times a day, its a nice body except for the really poor quality sim slots and poor quality memory card slot that only supports a 128 GB stick. The phone doesnt let you manage your dual sims at all what so ever. the people at At&T don't know anything about the phone to help you. its so bad that ive called SONIM and the worst customer service ever i called on a good landline and they acted like they couldnt hear me apparently and did everything not to help me or answer my questions. The lady on the phone sounded like she was from some poor asian country. I will never ever buy this brand phone again the software is complete garbage!

cell is great, except

Great cell except the small clips that hold the sd card and the att card was first to go. It didn't take long either. Directly out of the box! Switching cards and setting up was super easy. Cell is very very tough and deserves a five rating in all other areas.

- A: Hi @question1 That is a good question that is difficult to answer. The only information I was able to find is what is printed on the battery itself. The label on the battery shows 18.43 Watt hours which is not the answer you are looking for. Watt-hours measure amounts of energy for a specific period of time, and watts measure rates of power at a moment in time. A common analogy for watts and watt-hours is speed and distance. - A: Hi @KeegZ, The Sonim has access to the Google Play Store, apps like Facebook, Twitter, Instagram are available to download among many others. We are not sure what you mean by iPhone plan. AT&T's plan work with many devices. If you mean features that are only on iPhone, like FaceTime, there will be some that are not available for the Android OS.
