Learning the basics of your keyboard
Tap the Text Message field to open the keyboard.
To temporarily enable capitalization for one character, tap Shift.
You can also enable caps lock by tapping Caps Lock, or double-tapping Shift.
To delete text that you’ve typed, tap the Delete key.
You can tap and hold Delete to delete whole words at once.
To add a page break in your text, tap the Return key.
To enter other characters such as numbers, punctuation marks and more, tap the .?123 key.
To add an emoji, tap the Emoji key.
Tap and hold the Emoji key to select a quicktype keyboard option to type one handed.
To use your voice to type, tap the Microphone key.
To cut or copy a single word, double-tap it and select your desired action. You can also adjust the selection by dragging the grab points at the end of the text.
Triple-tapping allows you to select paragraphs of text.
