Sending a Next-Gen Message to a group
With Next-Gen Messaging, you can see when people in a group have read your messages. All members of the group need to have Next-Gen Messaging enabled in order for this functionality to work.
1.
From the Messaging app main screen, tap Start chat.
To send a Next-Gen Message to a group, all members must have chat features enabled. Otherwise, your chat will be converted into standard MMS.

Enter a contact name.

Select the contact.
4.
Tap the To area.
5.
Enter another contact name.
6.
Select the contact.
7.
Tap the Check icon.
8.
Enter a group name.
9.
Tap the Check icon.
10.
Compose your message.
11.
When you're finished, tap the Send icon.
Within your group chat, you can view read receipts and who is actively typing in the correspondence.
12.
You've completed the steps!
