AT&T Turbo puts network resources directly in your hands. It gives you the choice to purchase an improved level of service to help benefit your high-performance mobile applications. You’ll experience improved video chat and network stability to connect with family and friends. AT&T Turbo can also help maximize productivity for on-the-go workers through a more reliable connection. Gamers will enjoy smoother gameplay, while influencers and community builders will benefit from a more dependable livestream—all when on the AT&T network (excludes roaming and Wi-Fi®).

AT&T Turbo improves wireless data connectivity on the AT&T network. It allows you to upgrade your high-speed (premium) and hotspot data allotments to performance data.

How do I add Turbo to my wireless plan?

If you’re an existing AT&T Wireless customer with a 5G-capable phone and a compatible plan—AT&T Unlimited Premium® PL, AT&T Unlimited Extra® EL plans, or certain AT&T Unlimited Elite® plans—you can easily add AT&T Turbo to your plan and start using it within 15 minutes.

If you’re not an AT&T Wireless customer, you’ll need to switch to AT&T to start using Turbo.

You can choose to bring your own 5G-capable phone, or shop for the latest 5G devices. Choose between two eligible plans: AT&T Unlimited Premium® PL or AT&T Unlimited Extra® EL, and be sure to check the AT&T Turbo box in the additional features section.

How does AT&T Turbo work?

AT&T Turbo allows customers to optimize their plan’s high-speed (premium) and hotspot data allotments by upgrading it to performance data, which helps the performance of their data connection, even during busy times on the network. During peak network congestion, AT&T Turbo performance benefits may not be noticeable. AT&T Turbo does not provide extra data and does not apply to messaging or voice. If you exceed your existing allotments your normal network management applies.

On AT&T Unlimited Extra^®EL after 75GB, AT&T may temporarily slow data speeds if the network is busy.

On each eligible plan, after you exceed your hotspot allotment, your hotspot speeds are slowed to a maximum of 128Kbps.

You can purchase AT&T Turbo if your line has a 5G-capable smartphone and one of these eligible plans:

AT&T Unlimited Extra^®EL
Certain AT&T Unlimited Elite^®

Note: Only the AT&T Unlimited Elite plan that is eligible to be included in an Unlimited Your Way group can add AT&T Turbo. Not sure if you have an eligible Elite plan? If your bill or online account indicates that you have one or more lines on the Unlimited Elite – [#] lines plan, then those lines are eligible to add AT&T Turbo.

Does Video Management still apply?

Yes, the Video Management of your rate plan still applies and applies automatically. We strive to render streaming video in standard-definition (SD), with a max speed of 2Mbps. For Unlimited Extra^®EL plans with only SD streaming, the Video Management feature stays on. For the other eligible plans, you default to SD streaming and to experience higher definition streaming, or if you have any issues, you can turn it off online any time.

With Video Management on, other content bundled by content providers with streaming video may be impacted and slowed. This includes content such as video downloads, filters, lenses, and catalogs. Learn more

What is the AT&T Turbo Icon on my phone?

The AT&T Turbo icon is an alpha tag that is displayed in the top left corner of your device on the lock screen, indicating that your line is subscribed to AT&T Turbo. It will also be visible on the draw down screen on your device. This is a new feature for AT&T Turbo being rolled out in phases to customers, so the AT&T Turbo Alpha Tag may not be visible yet. In some circumstances, the AT&T Turbo icon will show even when AT&T Turbo is inactive, such as when on Wi-Fi or when your high-speed hotspot allotment is exceeded.

As a reminder, AT&T Turbo does not work when roaming, on Wi-Fi, or when you exceed your high-speed data allotments. Additionally, your plan’s other management policies and restrictions, including your Video Management feature, will continue to apply when subscribed to AT&T Turbo. See your plan terms for details.
