What to return

Each return is different, but here's a general list of what you should send back and what you can keep. We'll also send you an email or a letter by US Mail letting you know what equipment to return.

Heads up:

Things to return:
  • AT&T devices and power cords like Wi-Fi® gateways and receivers
  • AT&T remote control
  • Your AT&T TV device if you’re canceling service within 14 days of delivery or ship date – learn more
Things you don't return:
  • Any equipment you own, like Wi-Fi extenders, HDMI, or Ethernet cables
  • Your satellite dish or its accessories like the mount or pole
  • Your AT&T TV device if you’re canceling service after 14 days – learn more

Where to take your equipment

Keep your return receipt or tracking number. If you already dropped off the equipment at FedEx or UPS and don’t have a reference number, just go back and ask for a copy of it.

If we ask you to go to FedEx or UPS

It's fast and easy–no packing necessary. Just bring your unboxed equipment and 9-digit account number to a company-owned FedEx Office Pack and Ship or The UPS Store. Don't know your account number? Look on your bill, or find it now.
  • FedEx Office® Pack and Ship or The UPS Store® will send your equipment back to us at no charge to you.
  • You'll get a receipt that confirms your return, and we'll know that your equipment is on its way.
If we send you a return kit
  1. Pack up the equipment you're sending back to us.
  2. Attach the prepaid shipping label to the return kit.
  3. Give the kit to your mail carrier or drop it off at a post office.
If we include a prepaid label in your new equipment's box
  1. Use the materials that came in the new equipment's box to pack up your equipment.
  2. Tear off the bottom receipt tab on the prepaid shipping label.
  3. Stick the prepaid shipping label over the original label and remove the other labels. Without this return label, it won't be sent back to us.
  4. Find out where to drop it off.

Helpful tips

  • To avoid a fee, return your undamaged equipment within 21 days of the service change or disconnect date. Learn more about return equipment fees and charges
  • If the return equipment is damaged due to abuse, we may add a damaged equipment fee to your bill.
