loved it
wish i could have my s20 fe back instead of my s22 that i upgraded to. thought it would have been a great upgrade but wasnt. the snapdragon in the s20fe doesnt over heat or drain battery horribly like the s22 does. now im buying another s20 fe

cheap glass
cheap glass got a crack out of nowhere! No oone was near the phone. It had a protective case and this brand new phone got a crack! $50 copay for insurance but this seems to be more of a defect to me

wireless charging warps the body

The performance of this phone is just outright amazing, especially at its price. However, Samsung did seriously downgrade the body materials used, presumably so they could reduce the cost of the overall handset with all the hardware upgrades. The problem with using a plastic body is this: if the phone gets warm, the plastic body warps. My phone is no longer flat and straight... it's got a curved back to it now, kind of like it was designed to be an immersive display, except the display is still straight. It's just the plastic back has warped. Brand new, just a week old. Don't charge this phone wirelessly... four hours is all it takes to warp the back, and I doubt ATT will take it back without charging you something for it, which is why I haven't bothered trying.

*Almost Worthwhile

I purchased this phone to replace a Samsug S7 Active that I owned for 5yrs. I was so content with the previous phone, that I reluctantly decided to upgrade - but decided to stay with Samsung due to the durability and functions of the S7 Active that I loved.
I was looking for something with:
*good battery life (4000mah)
*expandable memory & higher internal storage capacity (125GB internal with up to 1TB external)
*durability/waterproofness (IPX8 -Scuba!)
*great camera with modern features (12MP and three lenses, inuding night mode!)
Online ("on paper") the S20 FE seemed to have all these. Although I was hesitant to replace my trusty S7 "Active Series" phone that had treated me so well for 5 years, with no issues it's 32GB internal storage was dated, and bogged down opperating system needed an update. After numerous hours of research the S20 FE seemed to have the best bundle of all the packages I was seeking.
Heading out for a two week roadtrip through the American West, I thought this would make a great companion - and in many ways it did! But unfortunately, in a VERY short period of time it proved to have more issues than a new-phone owner should have to deal with.
The GOOD:
CAMERA: I was indeed impressed with the upgraded capabilities of the camera and various settings. The wide angle lens acts almost like a GoPro fisheye, with great angles to capture a full scene. Nightmode is phenomenal and surprisiny user-friendly once you dial it in.
Water-Proofness: Performs underwater and in wet conditions as expected. Tested in the canyons of Zion N.P.
External Memory: Imediately purchased a 512GB external SD memory card so photos and vid can be a second thought when it comes to storage concerns.
The BAD:
It lasted about 2 weeks. I was starting to get used to the phone (despite notable quirks that have persisted). As I arived to my destination in California, with less than two-weeks of use, I noticed a hairline crack developing across the bottom of the screen one morning after it had been charging all night. No impact, or drop. By mid-day there were three spider veins cracked across the NEW phone's screen. Again, to remind you - I had my previous Samsung S7 for 5 YEARS of extremely heavy use, with NO cracks or physical damage before replacing it with this S20 FE. This was was lighy used for 2 WEEKS and already developed stress cracks!?
2. OS/Memory: Right off the bat, the phone had ~20GB of untouchable system files and opperating sytem firmware and unmovable apps that consumed ~30GB of internal memory - items that could not be relocated to the external memory card, before even transferring my photos over. This may not be an issue with the 125GB cappacity and ample external storage, but it was a shock. Of the modest 6GB of Ram, 3-4GB were occupied at any random time with no background apps open. This made for less than noticeable improvements in upload/data speeds even with the touted 5g network. On 4g, it's like someone intentionally put on the breaks. Even with full bars 4g, my old phone outperformed downloading simple websites where 5g was not available.
3. *Glithches* A broad cattegory of frustrating quirks - most predominantly: within one month of owning the phone, the screen has started flickering and GOING BLACK completely. This is most noticeable in days of strong sunlight, where the dimming sensor gets completely out of whak in adjusting the screen brightness and goes into sporaddic convulsions. There is nothing you can do, and it does not matter if you have just the camera open, or are using maps - it is accross the board. I have attempted to turn off the automatic "Adaptive Brightness" feature but this does not seem to "fix" the problem.
Overal, I *Could* like the phone, and I have severely attempted to, but after one long month of use, it is already in worse shape than my previous 5 y.o. phone, that I have reverted back to using. Just sad, becauese it had potential. Worse, customes service at ATT said they cannot help, because I did not purchase insurance, which cost more than the monthly phone payment. I cannot pay more for INSURSNCE than the phone
itself costs. So there you have it.
Summary: Good: camera, waterproof.
Bad: Longevity. Cracked screen in two weeks. Screen goes black sporradically after less than one month. Other issue, but personal preference will guide that.
If you want a nice, *cheap, new phone, you'll get that with this S20 FE. Expect to pay for it in other ways. : /

I purchased this phone a few years ago and it's been one of the highest quality phones I've ever had! My only complaint is the lack of a 3.5mm headphone jack.

I'm quite happy with my s20 FE 5G Navy blue. Got it 6 month ego it has upto 1T micro sd storage so I like that, it's a big selling point aganist iphone. (SONY did not take away micro sd fr their's)
Samsung please bring back the micro sd slot just for the storage not to be shared or confused with sim slot. we want to use sim slot for the physical sim. Thank you.
