Data usage basics

Data usage includes all data sent and received when you use your home internet. This data is measured in gigabytes (GB).

All our internet plans come with a data allowance for each bill period.

  • You’ll get an email alert when you use 65%, 90%, and 100% of your monthly data allowance.
  • You’ll get an email the first time you go over your data limit.
  • You’ll have a $10 charge applied the third time you go over your data limit.
  • You’ll have a $10 charge for each additional 50GB of data. The maximum overage charge for AT&T Internet® is $100 a month. It’s $200 a month for DSL.

Have AT&T Internet? You can get unlimited data with:

  • Internet 100 or higher
  • The unlimited usage allowance option for $30 month

Monthly data allowance by speed

1AT&T High Speed Internet Basic / FastAccess DSL Lite, AT&T High Speed Internet Express / FastAccess DSL Ultra, AT&T High Speed Internet Pro, AT&T High Speed Internet Elite / FastAccess DSL XtremePro
2Starting October 16, 2022, we’re increasing the monthly data allowance for AT&T Internet Basic 768 to 75. Existing data allowances will automatically increase from 1TB to 1.5TB in bill periods starting on or after October 16, 2022 for the next month’s usage. Bills issued prior to October 16, 2022 will show 1TB for the previous month’s usage.
3Service available with Internet Basic 768Kbps up to Internet 75 for $30 per month. Not available with DSL.
4Unlimited bundle allowance is included when qualifying TV service is bundled with AT&T Internet or AT&T Fiber (for plans purchased prior to August 1, 2021).

Track data use

To make sure you don’t go over your data limit, check your usage in myAT&T. When you do, you’ll find:

  • Current usage within 24 hours
  • Data usage levels for each day
  • A monthly summary
