I already have AT&T. How do I activate 5G on my AT&T phone?
If you’re already on an AT&T unlimited plan, and have a 5G-enabled device, you’ll get 5G access at no extra charge. If you have an older AT&T plan that doesn’t include 5G service, you’re going to want to switch to one of these newer plans.
Once you’re ready to change your AT&T Wireless plan, follow these steps:
Sign into your myAT&T online account.
- Go to your Account overview. If you have more than one account, choose the one you want to change.
- Select Change wireless.
- Select Change plan.
- Follow the prompts to finish up. Be sure to select a new AT&T unlimited plan. This should include 5G service if you live in an eligible area.
