1. From the Home screen, tap the Messaging icon.
   
2. Tap the Menu icon.
   
3. Tap Settings.
   
4. To edit notification settings, tap Notifications.
   
5. Edit notification settings as desired, then press the Back key.
   
6. Tap Text messages (SMS) to edit text message settings.
   
7. Tap Service center to change the message center number.
   
8. Edit additional settings as desired, then press the Back key.
   
9. Tap Multimedia messages (MMS) to edit MMS settings.
   
10. Edit settings as desired, then press the Back key.
    
11. Tap General to edit general messaging settings.
    
12. Scroll to, then tap Color scheme to change the display colors of your messaging screen.
    
13. Tap Background to set a custom background image for your messaging screen.
    
14. Edit additional settings as desired, then press the Back key.
    
15. Tap Emergency alerts to edit Emergency alert settings.
    
16. Edit Emergency alert settings as desired, then press the Back key.
    
17. To restore default settings, tap the Menu icon.
    
18. Tap Restore default settings.
