What is an eSIM?
An eSIM is a digital SIM that connects some newer devices to the AT&T network. It is used instead of a SIM card to connect to the AT&T wireless network.

An eSIM gives you more flexibility to manage your wireless plan and eSIM-compatible device.
- You download an eSIM and activate it, so you don’t have to manage a physical SIM card.
- Some devices with eSIM capabilities can support more than one phone number.

Download an eSIM to a new AT&T device
- Transferring your number from another provider? Be sure to activate your phone first. Then turn it on and follow the prompts to download your eSIM.
- Have an existing AT&T number? Just turn on your new phone and follow the prompts to download your eSIM.

Ready to move your number to an unlocked phone you purchased somewhere other than AT&T? Here's how:
- 1. Start at Bring Your Own Device.
- 2. Select Switch the device used on my line.
- 3. Follow the prompts to download and activate your eSIM.

- iPhone
While setting up your iPhone over Wi-Fi®, your eSIM might download automatically or you might be prompted to install an AT&T cellular plan. If you have wireless service bars or you can make a call, you’re all set.
Still don’t have service? Try this:
1. Connect to Wi-fi.
2.  Swipe down from the top of your screen to open your notifications.
3.  Choose the AT&T Cellular Plan Ready to be Installed notification
4.  Select Continue.
Don’t see a notification? You might have to activate your iPhone first.
Did you receive an eSIM activation card with a QR code from AT&T? Learn how to activate with the QR code. - Samsung smartphone
Just turn on your phone and follow the setup prompts. If you have wireless service bars or you can make a call, you're all set.
Don't have service? Look for a notification to add your eSIM or go to your phone Settings and tap Connections then SIM manager and Add eSIM.

- Google smartphone
Make sure you have an eSIM activation card with a QR code from AT&T.
Follow these steps on your phone:
1. Connect to Wi-Fi®.Â
2. Open Settings.Â
3.  Choose Network & Internet.
4.  Select the plus sign (+) next to Mobile network.
5. Select Download a SIM instead.
6.  Follow the prompts to scan the QR code on your eSIM activation card from AT&T.If your phone still doesn’t have wireless service, activate your device.
- Other Android phone
Make sure you have an eSIM activation card with a QR code from AT&T. Then, follow these steps on your phone:
1. Connect to Wi-Fi®.Â
2. Open Settings and look for Network, Connections, Mobile, or similar.
3. Find the option to download a SIM or eSIM.
