If you have an installment plan

Any remaining device installment balance is due on your next bill when you cancel service. Learn how to pay off an installment plan

If you have a service agreement (business accounts)

If you cancel before the end of your service commitment, you'll have to pay an Early Termination Fee (ETF). We’ll prorate your ETF for each full month you complete and add the ETF to your final bill. Find out how estimate your ETF, if it applies.

If you activated service on a device within the last 14 days

You can find out how to return your device and cancel service in the AT&T Wireless Return Policy.

If you placed an online order

You don’t have to pay a restocking fee for returns purchased online that fall under the 14-day return policy. Did you pick up an online order in the store? Go to one of our stores to have the restocking fee waived. The fee waiver is subject to change.

If you want other options

Contact us if your device is:

  • Part of a trade-in offer
  • On a single line
  • Yours for 14 days or less

If it isn't, you can submit an online cancel request.

Have your user ID and password handy to sign in with.

Start cancel request

Here are the steps to cancel a data plan for your AT&T tablet, wearable, or hotspot:

  1. Go to your online account. Sign in, if asked.
  2. Select Switch and then choose the device line that you’re removing.
  3. Select Manage wireless, then select Device options and Cancel service.
  4. Choose a cancellation reason and follow the prompts to submit your request.

FYI: In some cases, it can take up to three business days to fully cancel your service.
