In this tutorial, you will learn how to:
• Identify and choose a Static IP address
• Assign the Static IP address to the Printer
• Reserve a Static IP address
• Add the Printer to Your Computer
• Test Your Printer
Most wireless printers use the 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi band, which has better range than 5 GHz—so if your printer doesn’t appear, check your 5G Gateway’s Wi-Fi band settings. If you need in-depth guidance for your specific printer model, consult the printer manufacturer’s support documentation or online setup wizard.
Identify and choose a Static IP address
1. To choose an appropriate static IP address, you must first identify your 5G Gateway's IP address range. Your IP address is listed on the bottom of your device.
Note: Typically, this is something like 192.168.1.x or 192.168.0.x (check the label on your 5G Gateway or its admin interface).
2. Select a static IP outside the DHCP range: For example, if your gateway assigns addresses from 192.168.1.100 to 192.168.1.200, choose something like 192.168.1.210 for your printer. Ensure your chosen Static IP is easily referenced because it will be used in the remaining steps.
Note: You can also use a static IP address within the DHCP range that is not in use.
Assign the Static IP Address to the Printer
PRINTER CONTROL PANEL: 1. From your Printer's control panel, navigate to Network Settings > TCP/IP or IP Address Setup.
2. Select Manual or Static.
3. Enter the chosen IP address (ex. 192.168.1.210), subnet mask (ex. 255.255.255.0), and the gateway/router’s IP (ex. 192.168.1.1).
4. Save and apply the settings; the printer may restart.
PRINTER WEB INTERFACE: 1. Connect your printer to the network temporarily with DHCP (automatic IP).
2. Find the printer’s current IP address (print a network configuration page if needed).
3. Enter the printer’s IP address into a web browser to access its admin page.
4. Navigate to Network or TCP/IP settings and assign the static IP, subnet mask, and gateway.
Reserve a Static IP
1. From your device’s web browser, go to http://attwifi.manager or https://192.168.1.1. Enter your password, then click Login.
Note: Ensure that your device is connected to your 5G Gateway's Wi-Fi network. For more information, please see the Connect Devices to Wi-Fi or Connect PC or Mac to Wi-Fi tutorials. If this is your first time logging into the Web admin page, the default password will be ‘admin’. You may be prompted to change the admin password.
2. Select the Menu icon. Select Network, then select LAN.
3. Select IPv4 & DHCPv4.

4. Scroll to and select Add Rule.
4. Add your printer's MAC Address manually or click the drop-down to choose the desired MAC device from Current devices. Add the chosen Static IP, then select Save. This ensures the 5G Gateway never assigns your chosen IP to another device.

Add the Printer to Your Computer
WINDOWS: 1. Settings > Devices > Printers & scanners > Add a printer or scanner.
2. Windows should detect the printer automatically. If not, click “The printer that I want isn’t listed” and follow the prompts.
MAC: 1. System Preferences > Printers & Scanners > + (Add)
2. Select your printer from the list.
Test Your Printer
• Print a test page from your computer to confirm connectivity.
