Setting up AT&T Internet Air for Business with Office@Hand (AT&T’s cloud-based unified communications and VoIP platform powered by RingCentral) is a great way to modernize your business communications.Â
Â
Â
Unbox & Set Up AT&T Internet Air for Business
PLACE THE 5G GATEWAY: Choose a location near a window for the strongest cellular signal.
Â
PLUG IN AND POWER UP:Â Connect the device to power and wait for the connection lights to stabilize (solid green or blue).
Â

Â
CONNECT YOUR DEVICES: Use the Wi-Fi name (SSID) and password on the 5G Gateway label located on the bottom of the device, or connect devices via Ethernet.
Â

Â
Â
Prepare Your Office@Hand Devices
PHONES & ADAPTERS:Â Office@Hand works with supported IP desk phones, softphones (apps for computers or mobile), and analog telephone adapters (ATAs) for traditional phones.
Â
COMPUTERS & MOBILE DEVICES: Office@Hand apps are available for Windows, Mac, Android, and iOS.
Â
Â
Connect Desk Phones or ATAs
ETHERNET CONNECTION:Â Plug your Office@Hand-supported IP phone or ATA into a LAN port on the AT&T Internet Air gateway using an Ethernet cable.
POWER ON: If using Power over Ethernet (PoE), the phone may power up from the switch; otherwise, use the included power adapter.
NETWORK SETTINGS: Most IP phones will auto-configure via DHCP, but you can assign a static IP if your business prefers (see your device’s manual).
Â
Â
Configure Office@Hand Service
PROVISION THE DEVICE: Follow the Office@Hand/RingCentral instructions to activate and register your desk phone or ATA. This may include:
• Entering your Office@Hand credentials on the phone.
• Logging into the Office@Hand portal to assign the device to a user/extension.
Â
INSTALL SOFTPHONE APPS:Â If needed, download the Office@Hand app on computers or mobile devices. Sign in with your business credentials.
Â
Â
Test and Optimize
PLACE TEST CALLS:Â Make and receive calls to ensure everything is functioning.
CHECK CALL QUALITY:Â Office@Hand uses your internet connection, so strong, stable bandwidth is key. If calls sound choppy or drop, try moving your 5G Gateway for better signal, or limit the number of active users on Wi-Fi.
ENABLE QOS:Â Some gateways allow you to prioritize VoIP traffic for better call quality. Check your AT&T Internet Air device settings for this feature.
Â
Â
Troubleshooting Tips
• POOR CALL QUALITY: Move the gateway to a location with better cellular signal. Use wired (Ethernet) connections for phones if possible, as they are less susceptible to interference than Wi-Fi.
Â

Â
• DEVICE REGISTRATION ISSUES: Make sure your phone/ATA is supported and properly provisioned in your Office@Hand admin portal.
• APP ISSUES: Ensure your mobile or desktop device is connected to the 5G Gateway network and that Office@Hand apps are up to date.
