Getting started

  1. You can download the update via Firmware Over the Air (FOTA). 
  2. Prior to the update, please ensure that the device is connected to the AT&T network with 3-5 bars of signal strength.
  3. The data used to download this update will not count towards the customer's data usage.

Update & verify software

To update the software wirelessly
  1. From the MiFi Liberate touch-screen, swipe to and tap the About icon.
  2. Tap Software Update.
  3. Tap Check for Updates.
  4. Tap Postpone or Install Now (The MiFi device is unusable during the update process, which may take several minutes).

To update the software via USB
  1. Connect MiFi Liberate to your computer via the included USB cable
  2. In your computer browser, navigate to the MiFi Liberate support page at www.novatelwireless.com/att-mifi-liberate and follow the instructions to download the update.

To verify the update
  1. From the MiFi Liberate touch-screen, swipe to and tap the About icon.
  2. Tap Device Info.
  3. Your device has the latest software if the Software version matches the current update details.
