The AT&T Wi-Fi Gateway device functions as a modem and a router and is required for AT&T Fiber. While connecting your own router is possible, the AT&T Wi-Fi Gateway is recommended for the best experience. The latest Wi-Fi 6 gateway delivers the fastest and most reliable connectivity throughout your home using the Wi-Fi 6 protocol.* When adding your own router or Wi-Fi equipment to the AT&T Gateway, you should check with the manufacturer to confirm compatibility. Some routers or Wi-Fi equipment may not be capable of supporting all the features offered by AT&T Fiber and the AT&T Gateway. How much data is included with AT&T Fiber plans?

All internet plans with AT&T Fiber include unlimited internet data allowance for your home internet connection. Since there’s no data cap with AT&T Fiber, you won’t have to worry about paying overage fees. Can I install my own AT&T Internet?
