AT&T Wireless Home Phone is a commercial mobile radio service that can be used with home phone equipment in a residence or office, taken on vacation and used in a hotel, or even operated while in motion like in an RV.
How does AT&T Wireless Home Phone work?
Plug your existing corded or cordless telephone into the AT&T Wireless Home Phone device, plug the device into a power outlet, turn on the device, and you’re ready to make or receive calls. Your voice calls connect to the AT&T wireless network.
Will AT&T Wireless Home Phone work with a fax machine or home alarm system?
AT&T Wireless Home Phone is a voice-only service and isn’t compatible with services requiring data including fax machines, alarm systems, credit card machines, medical alert systems, or dialup Internet service.
Can I transfer my existing home phone number?
Yes, you can transfer your home number and even use your existing telephone. If you have DSL Internet and a home phone, please check with your Internet provider first before transferring your phone number to avoid any disruption in service. AT&T Wireless Home Phone may not be compatible with your DVR or satellite TV system – please check with your provider.
Does AT&T Wireless Home Phone require a broadband Internet connection?
No, AT&T Wireless Home Phone doesn’t require an Internet connection to make or receive calls.
Is AT&T Wireless Home Phone portable?
Since no telephone wall jack is required, you can use your AT&T Wireless Home Phone anywhere you have a strong cellular signal and available power outlet. Set it up in the kitchen, bedroom — or even take it with you to a vacation home or in an RV. International roaming is not available.
Can I make or receive calls during power outages?
The AT&T Wireless Home Phone device is equipped with a backup battery allowing for approximately 3 hours of talk time and 25 hours of standby time. However, a corded phone must be plugged into the AT&T Wireless Home Phone device to place or receive calls (including 911) during a power outage. A cordless phone will not operate during a power outage. It is the customer’s responsibility to maintain/replace the backup battery.
Does AT&T Wireless Home Phone work with a 911 service?
911 calls are routed based on the wireless network’s automatic location technology, but you may have to provide your location address to emergency responders.
