How to upgrade your iPhone
If you’re an AT&T customer, check your upgrade eligibility with the myAT&T app.
- Download the free myAT&T app from the major app stores or text “myATT” to 556699 to receive a download link.1
- Select Manage device and usage on the home screen in the My Wireless Devices section. From there, you’ll be able to View upgrade status and proceed to Turn in & upgrade.
- Follow the prompts to choose a new device for your upgrade.&
- Proceed to cart and complete the checkout process to submit your order.

Can I upgrade my iPhone early?
AT&T offers an early upgrade program called AT&T Next Up Anytime. It costs an extra $10 per month and allows you to upgrade early without worrying about the remaining balance of your installment plan. And every year, or once you’ve paid off one-third of your phone’s cost, you will be eligible for our smartphone deals (maximum three upgrades in a 12-month period).
Tips for trading in your old iPhone
Start your trade-in by visiting the AT&T trade-in program site. The process is quick and easy!
- Answer a few questions to find out how much your device is worth.
- Choose to have a prepaid trade-in kit sent to you or print a label and use your own materials.
- Track the status of your trade-in using our online tracker.
Make sure you mail your old device within 30 days of accepting the trade-in value offered. If you’re trading in to qualify for the new iPhone deal, once you’ve met all the promotion requirements, you’ll receive the promo credits within 1-3 billing cycles.
