Getting started
- You can download the update via Firmware Over the Air (FOTA).
- You must connect your device to Wi-Fi® or a cellular connection to download the update.
- Downloading via cellular network will impact your data bucket and may result in additional charges.
- Although there should be no impacts to settings or data, we recommend backing up your media files to an SD card, a computer, or using a favorite application, prior to upgrading the software.
Update & verify software
Update software
- Select the App tray key on the device keypad.
- Select Settings, scroll down and select System.
- Scroll down and select AT&T Software Update, then Check for Updates.
- Follow the on-screen instructions to download and install the update.
- The device automatically restarts after the new software successfully installs.
Verify software update
- Select the App tray key on the device keypad.
- Select Settings, scroll down and select System.
- Scroll down and select About phone.
- Scroll down to view the new software version.Â
- If the Android and Baseband versions don’t match the current update; perform additional updates until they do.Â

- After installing the software update, visit Troubleshoot & Resolve to fix any additional issues with your device or services.
