Getting started

Update & verify software

Update iPhone or iPad software

  1. Plug your device in to power and connect to Wi-Fi.
  2. From the General screen, select Software Update.
  3. Then Download and Install.
  4. Tap Install. If asked, enter your passcode.
  5. To learn more, visit Apple Support: Update the iOS software on your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch.

 

Update Apple Watch software

  1. Open the Apple Watch app on iPhone.
  2. Tap My Watch, then General.
  3. Tap Software Update.
  4. Download the software to the iPhone, and then continue on with Apple Watch.
  5. Maintain a steady Internet connection on both Apple Watch and iPhone during this process to ensure a successful software update.

Verify software update & update Carrier version

  1. Tap Settings, then General.
  2. Tap About.
  3. If a Carrier update is available, you'll be prompted to install it.
  4. If the iOS version and the current software update details match, the device has the latest software.
  5. For additional help, visit Apple Support: Find the software version on your iPhone, iPad, or iPod.
