One network management practice AT&T uses to manage its network resources may affect certain smartphone customers with Unlimited Data Plans. Specifically, if a customer on a smartphone with an Unlimited Data Plan exceeds 22GB of data usage in a billing period, he or she may experience reduced data speeds and increased latency during periods of congestion as compared to other customers using the same cell site. Reduced speeds and increased latency may cause web sites to load more slowly or affect the performance of data-heavy activities such as video streaming or interactive gaming. However, an affected Unlimited Data Plan customer will experience reduced speeds and increased latency only if he or she has already exceeded his or her 22GB data usage threshold in a billing period and uses data at a cell site experiencing network congestion at the same moment.

You can talk, text, and use data in Canada and Mexico for no additional roaming charge when you add the AT&T Roam North America feature to compatible devices on your AT&T Unlimited Plan. You must add the feature to each device separately. AT&T may remove the roaming feature from your plan if voice, text, or data usage in Mexico and/or Canada on one line exceeds 50% of your total voice, text, or data usage for that line for two consecutive billing periods.
You can add the Roam North America feature separately to each phone and tablet on your plan. Connected Car, Wearables, Wireless Home Services, and other Internet of Things devices are not compatible with Roam North America, and therefore the feature cannot be added to these devices.
Yes. Customers on any agreement types (AT&T Next, Bring Your Own, no commitment, or 2-year contract where available) can get the AT&T Unlimited Plan. But, the monthly access charge for a smartphone on the AT&T Unlimited Plan is $40 no matter which type of agreement the smartphone is on.
With the AT&T Unlimited Plan, you can browse the Web and play games. If you are a current DIRECTV or U-verse TV customer with qualified programming, you can also stream your favorite shows plus content from other streaming services. Those streaming services have their own terms and conditions, which may include streaming limits or other restrictions. After 22GB of data usage, AT&T may slow data speeds.
Stream Saver is included on select plans, including the new AT&T Unlimited Plan. Stream Saver is designed to identify streaming video content so that data speed and resolution of higher definition video can be adjusted to Standard Definition quality (about 480p). This allows customers to stream more video while using the same amount of data. Stream Saver will not apply to content it cannot identify as video. Yes, if your domestic plan includes Stream Saver, then when Stream Saver is turned on for your line and you are roaming internationally (with or without an international package or feature), it will apply to international video streaming as well. You can turn it off and back on any time online.
Customers must order, install, and remain in good standing on DIRECTV (excludes DIRECTV NOW) or U-verse TV residential service to keep this plan.
If TV service is not installed within 60 days, or if TV service is disconnected:
• Current wireless customers who have not added any new devices to the AT&T Unlimited Plan will be automatically moved to their previous wireless plan if available; otherwise they will be moved to a plan with 10GB of shareable data with overage charges of $15 per GB.
• New wireless customers will automatically be moved to the 10GB Shared Data plan with overage charges of $15 per GB.
If moved to another plan, you may move to another currently available plan at any time.
No, you must have DIRECTV or U-verse TV to get the AT&T Unlimited Plan.
Only with connected cars. For all other devices, tethering and use of your device as a mobile hotspot are not allowed.
Yes. Tethered devices and mobile hotspots (except connected cars), Wireless Home Phone, Wireless Home Phone and Internet, laptops, Timex devices, and ZTE Spro™ 2 devices are not eligible for this plan. If you currently have any of these devices on your plan, you will need to contact us at 800.331.0500 or visit an AT&T store to switch your eligible devices to this plan.
After 22GB of data use on a line in a bill cycle, AT&T may slow data speeds on that line during periods of network congestion for the remainder of the bill cycle.
No, you cannot have both features on the same device. If you currently have the Mexico Roaming Bonus on your device, that feature must be removed before you can add Roam North America to that device.
Yes, you can get the AT&T Unlimited Plan for just your tablet or connected car—a smartphone is not required. For example, you can have two tablets and a connected car on your account, and the charge would be $180 per month ($60 per month for the plan and a $40 per month access charge for each tablet and car).
You will see the monthly recurring credit for your free fourth smartphone line beginning in 1–2 billing cycles.
Yes. Individual AT&T DataConnect plans offer several options for domestic data use for tablets. Learn more about DataConnect plans. Also, there is a new standalone AT&T 1GB Tablet Plan offering 1GB of non-shareable data for $10 per tablet per month, available to customers who have the AT&T Unlimited Plan. Overage charges of $15 per GB apply.
Yes, and if you have a ZTE Mobley or a select OnStar 4G LTE Connected Car (“car”), one of them is the AT&T 1GB Car Plan. This Plan is available only to customers who also have the AT&T Unlimited plan on their account, and it provides 1GB of non-shareable data for $10 per car per month. Overage charges of $15 per GB apply. To be eligible for this plan, you must have the AT&T Unlimited Plan, and if you become ineligible, AT&T will move your car from this plan to an AT&T DataConnect 1GB plan for Cars ($20 per month with a $10 per GB overage charge). If you currently have a Connected Car on your plan, you will need to contact us at 800.331.0500 to switch your car to this new plan.
