Upgrade your phone early and more often when you enroll in AT&T Next Up AnytimeSM.

For fans of the latest and greatest tech, it can be hard to go a year or two without upgrading their cell phone, especially when a new iPhone is released. If you just can’t wait another year to get your hands on the newest devices, there’s AT&T Next Up Anytime. For an additional monthly fee, Next Up Anytime lets you upgrade your phone early.

What is AT&T Next Up Anytime?

Next Up Anytime is AT&T’s smartphone upgrade option, created for early adopters who want the flexibility to upgrade their phone sooner.

For an extra $10/mo., you can upgrade your phone as soon as you’ve made your first installment payment.Then you can turn in your device and upgrade your phone to a new one when it’s convenient for you:

How to enroll in Next Up Anytime

Step 1: Choose a new phone from AT&T

Now’s your chance to pick out the latest and greatest smartphone from AT&T. Get great deals on some of the most popular devices from brands like AppleGoogle, Samsung, and more.

Step 2: Choose an AT&T Installment PlanSM with AT&T Next Up Anytime

When configuring your new smartphone, be sure to select an AT&T Installment Plan instead of paying full retail price.

The installment plan allows you to pay off your phone over 36 months, instead of making one big payment upfront. For qualified buyers, the installment plan gets you a new phone for zero dollars down before taxes—and there’s no interest charged.

You’ll need to have an installment plan to enroll in Next Up Anytime.

Step 3: Pick your wireless plan

All current AT&T wireless plans include unlimited talk and text in the U.S., Canada, and Mexico.1 Unlimited plans also include unlimited data in the U.S., Mexico, and Canada, network protection from AT&T ActiveArmorSM mobile security,2 and access to fast, reliable, and secure wireless service with AT&T 5GSM.3

How to upgrade your phone early with AT&T Next Up Anytime

Once you’ve made your first installment + Next Up Anytime payment, you can upgrade your smartphone. If you wait until you’ve paid 33% of your installment plan with Next Up Anytime, you’ll be eligible for our smartphone deals when you upgrade.

Then, sign in to your account and select the device with Next Up Anytime that you would like to upgrade. Once you have completed your upgrade request, you'll have 30 days after activating your new device to turn in your old device in good working condition. AT&T will waive the remaining installment balance on that device.

It's that easy—get ready to enjoy your new device.

Other important info about AT&T Next Up Anytime

To take advantage of your early upgrade options, you need to enroll in Next Up Anytime within 14 days of buying your new smartphone on an AT&T Installment Plan,1 but it’s easier to enroll when you make your purchase.

You can cancel your AT&T Next Up Anytime whenever you'd like, and if you change your mind, you can re-enroll within 30 days of canceling.

The $10 per month AT&T Next Up Anytime charge doesn't apply toward the installment balance owed on your device.

What happened to the original Next Up? 

Next Up Anytime is the new and improved version of our original AT&T Next Up. If you already enrolled in Next Up when you bought a smartphone from AT&T and you haven’t canceled it, you still have the old Next Up benefits. That means that you can upgrade your phone after paying 50% of your current device installment plan.

You can’t upgrade from Next Up to Next Up Anytime for your existing device, but you can enroll in Next Up Anytime when you upgrade and turn in your current device. 

You’ll need to pay at least 50% of your current device’s installment payments and upgrade your device using the Next Up option.
