Make sure you’re in the U.S. and on our wireless network.
You can download the update via Firmware Over the Air (FOTA).
You must connect your device to Wi-Fi® to download the update.
Downloading via cellular network will impact your data bucket and may result in additional charges.
Visit the Galaxy Apps store (Samsung smartphones only) or the Google Play store (all Android devices) to install the latest Samsung Gear software version before updating your Samsung Galaxy Watch software.
Update & verify software
On your smartphone, if using Wi-Fi, connect your phone to a Wi-Fi network. Otherwise, it will use your data bucket.
On your smartphone, open the Samsung Gear App. Ensure you are paired with your Galaxy Watch via Bluetooth.
Scroll to and select the Home tab, then scroll to and select Watch Software update.
Select Download and install.
Follow the on-screen instructions.
A notification message appears when the update successfully completes.
Verify software update
From the Galaxy Watch clock screen, select the Power/Home button.
Scroll to and double tap Settings, then scroll to and select Software.
The Software version displays.
If the Software version doesn’t match the current update; perform additional updates until they do.
