AT&T Messages Backup & Sync

AT&T Messages Backup & Sync allows you to store and access your text and picture messages, calls, and voicemail messages in a single inbox from the AT&T cloud and syncs them to your supported smartphone.

  1. ACCESS AT&T MESSAGES BACKUP & SYNC: To use AT&T Messages Backup & Sync, you must first download the AT&T Messages app. From the home screen, select the Play Store app then search for and select AT&T Messages.
    Note: With AT&T Messages Backup & Sync you can download messages stored in the AT&T cloud to a smartphone that supports Messages Backup & Sync. You can also access your messages and send or receive messages using your mobile number from your tablet or computer at messages.att.net. To learn more, visit AT&T Messages Backup & Sync.

  2. Select INSTALL. When installation has completed, select OPEN.
    Note: Alternately, AT&T Messages can be accessed from the home screen by selecting the AT&T Messages app.

  3. Select Set as Default, then review the Privacy Policy and Terms of Service and select Accept.
    Note: You will be prompted to review app permissions. Select ALLOW.

  4. You will be notified by text message that your messages will now be backed up in the AT&T cloud. From the AT&T Messages app, select Continue.

  5. SYNC MESSAGES: From the home screen, select the AT&T Messages app. Select the Menu icon, then select Settings.
    Note: You will be prompted to log in to Visual Voicemail.

  6. Select Sync, then select Backup.
