Getting started

The Windows 10 upgrade is an opt-in experience:
  1. Download and install the Windows Upgrade Advisor app from the Windows app store.
  2. Check Enable in the Windows Upgrade Advisor app to get the upgrade.

Update & verify software

To update the software
  1. Make sure your device is sufficiently charged and connected to Wi-Fi.
  2. From the Windows store, download and install the Windows Upgrade Advisor app to your device.
  3. Open the Windows Upgrade Advisor app.
  4. Enable the checkbox for Enable Windows 10 Upgrade.
  5. If the upgrade is available, you’ll see a message directing you to install the update. Go to your Apps list, then scroll to and tap Settings > Phone Update.
  6. If the upgrade isn’t yet available for your device, you’ll see a message advising the update is not yet available and to check back at a later date.
  7. If the device isn’t eligible at all for the upgrade to Windows 10, you will see a screen informing you of the same.

To verify the software update
  1. From the Start screen, scroll to and tap Settings.
  2. Tap About > More Info.
  3. The device has the latest software if the displayed information matches the current update details.
